Let's go TIGERS!

Down here in South Louisiana, almost everyone roots for the Tigers. Which Tigers, you may ask? All of them. LSU, Grambling, Thibodaux, Terrebonne, Breaux Bridge, Donaldsonville, Hahnville, Morgan City, Slidell, and many MANY more (including a town named Many whose high school mascot is a tiger).

We love us some tigers.

I wanted to make a tiger design last year around this time, but I just wasn't inspired enough to create anything. A few months ago, I was doodling in my notebook and drew the word "tigers" as if spelled by a tiger's tail. I liked it, but it needed more so I threw a whole tiger on top. A tiger with a verrrrry long tail.

When the final drawing was complete, I had to decide which part of the design would be ink and which would be negative space where the shirt color comes through. Normally, what is colored in pencil is what I would make the ink part. This time, I thought it would be fun for the stripes to be the color of the shirt.

I happened to have a couple of blank shirts on hand for me and Wendy, so I practiced on those. I'm very pleased with the result! White ink always makes the designs pop. You can get white ink on a shirt in your team's color to support whichever group of tigers you wish!

In our little town of Thibodaux, our high school mascot is the tiger and we support the LSU tigers whether we attended the school or not. Both schools' colors are purple and gold and I just so happen to have both of those colors in ink. I tried out a shadow print with the purple and gold on the back of a heather gray zip-up hoodie and it looks great! It's so much brighter in person than in pictures. And as you can see, the gold by itself doesn't work at all, so I won't be offering that ink color.

The fan favorite hoodie t-shirt in the last picture comes in this pretty team purple color! It's great for the changing weather of the fall season. It's the weight of a soft, thin t-shirt and great for layering!

Amy Jo took some quick pics of us in our shirts. This was clearly a well-planned photoshoot. *blank stare*

The pre-sale for Tiger shirts starts Thursday 8/15 and ends Tuesday 8/20. This is a longer sale than usual to make sure everyone gets a chance to grab one. The shirts will be ready to ship or pick up around 8/30 - 9/2.

Everyone have a great day!
