Be Kind and Louisiana Proud

It's been a little while since the Sweet and Southern shirts, so I'm hitting y'all with TWO new designs at once! W I L D (You'll also see a Don't Give Up shirt on the site for a fundraiser to virtually adopt orangutans! Also a great cause you should check out!)

The stress of life stopped my creative juices for quite a while, but I'm slowly finding my way back. I still haven't finished a Gillian drawing. Hopefully I can get that project back up and running soon! I did get a request to make a THS Volleyball face mask, which prompted me to create a Redbubble shop. Since that first request, I've uploaded 169 designs, and will be able to donate $250 to THS Volleyball as soon as I get paid (takes a while). It's been a lot of fun creating designs and seeing them on different products. It's also awesome seeing people out and about wearing masks that I designed. :)

The first t-shirt design was inspired by my coworker, Cindy, who asked for "peace." My friend, Keena, had asked for some Be Kind masks (you can find those here) so I decided to combine the two. I had been wanting to make an artistic contribution in support of human rights and Black lives, but I was just so paralyzed. I feel like this design is a great tribute to the human race and I'll be donating 20% of all profits from this design to the Louisiana ACLU.

What the ACLU does, from their website:

Since 1956, the ACLU of Louisiana has worked to advance and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and the State of Louisiana. The ACLU also works to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights, including people of color; women; lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people; prisoners; and people with disabilities. If the rights of society's most vulnerable members are denied, everyone's rights are imperiled.

There are three ink color options for this shirt: Black, Rainbow, and Brown Ombre. I love making prints combining colors like this. They always look amazing.

This design is so beautifully modeled by Cindy, Kim, and Sharon, my extremely kind coworkers and boss. They selflessly advocate for students day in and day out and perfectly represent peace and kindness.

I cannot with how perfect they are. *heart eyes*

This design is only available on a white t-shirt or a tote bag.

NEXT UP is a design for the sports ball fans. This is usually the time of year I am thinking about a Saints or LSU or Nicholls design, but this year is just so *weird*. I'm pretty sure I was in the shower when this idea hit me. I wanted to somehow represent the fact that fans probably wouldn't be able to actually attend sporting events, and I waited until I knew for sure that this would be the case before carving it up.

If you haven't already, go follow us on tik tok! I'm obsessed with that app and have learned so many tips and tricks for procreate, cooking, plants, and small businesses. It's so great.

I also discovered how to make mock-ups in Procreate! Now I can show everyone how a design will look on various shirt styles and products. It's not *exactly* how it will look on a shirt since my digital drawing is much cleaner than a print on a shirt. Also, thanks to tik tok, I'm going to try out an easy way to screen print using cricut heat transfer vinyl rather than emulsion. So excited about that!

Pretty cool, eh? You can show off your support for all the sports ball events, even if you can't attend. The middle of the fleur de lis is available in many different colors so you can customize it to your favorite team's colors. This design looks best in black, so shirt colors are limited.

And here is my lovely model/wife

These shirts (both designs) will be available August 19th to August 23rd. As always, this is a pre-order for shirts. They will be ready about 2 weeks after sales close on the 23rd. And these designs will never be printed again, so buy now or forever hold your peace! :)
